According to Christopher Hjort’s excellent “Strange Brew” book, promoters Philip Hayward and John Mansfield opened the old inn Pantiles as a bar and music venue in July 1967 after they gave up their chain of Ricky Tick clubs. The following gigs are taken from Melody Maker unless otherwise noted. I would welcome any additions as it’s difficult to find dates for this venue

1967:

11 August 1967 – John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers (Christopher Hjort’s book “Strange Brew”)

28 November 1967 – Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac (Christopher Hjort’s book “Strange Brew”)

8 December 1967 – Tuesday’s Children

1968:

2 February 1968 – Ferris Wheel

11 February 1968 – Ferris Wheel

23 February 1968 – The Shevelles

24 February 1968 – The All Night Workers

27 February 1968 – John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers

3 March 1968 – Ferris Wheel

12 March 1968 – Ferris Wheel

31 May 1968 – Herbie Goins & The Night-Timers

2 June 1968 – The Shevelles

9 July 1968 – Ray King Soul Band

4 August 1968 – Dave Davani Five

20 August 1968 – Dave Davani Five

1969:

17 June 1969 – Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac (Christopher Hjort’s book “Strange Brew”)
